Matthew 2:1-12 Advent Recommitment of Your Life
So, I'm going to challenge you to bring a gift next week, one that you can give to Jesus Christ. I want you to wrap it, in a box, nice wrapping paper, with a bow on it (guys, you can't do without a bow). Nobody's going to open these boxes, but it will be your gift, your commitment, to Jesus.

The Beginning of the End
Discerning the End-of-the-Age
So who are these four creatures (angels, people) that are riding on horses? Are they purely spiritual beings who are charged with enacting God's wrath? Or, are they like the ten horns we see in Daniel 7 . . the kings of ten kingdoms here on Earth?

God Has All Authority
Our Western viewpoint, the way that we see this passage as North Americans, really doesn't do it justice. When you prostrate yourself before God, you are admitting that God is in control, that you are not. That God is the Master, that you are His servant.

Evangelism
We can drive people away from faith in Jesus Christ by presenting a faith that is judgmental and opinionated. Paul spoke in terms that the local culture could understand. Isn't this what Jesus does in our lives? He takes us where we are when we are saved and continually moves us closer to the cross.
