Statement of Faith

    We believe;
  • In the Trinitarian nature of God; God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
    • Distinct in three Persons, co-equal, co-extensive, infinite, unchangeable, timeless, all-powerful, omnipresent & omniscient.
      • As you go throughout the world, make disciples of all the nations, baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all that I commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • That Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, is sinless.
      • The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:5)
      • But One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15)
  • In the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ.
    • All God, all man, all the time.
      • For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form. (Colossians 2:9)
  • That the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God.
    • A guide for daily lives towards Him, to stand firm against the world's culture.
      • Your Word is a light unto my feet, and a guide unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)
      • As you go throughout the world, make disciples of all the nations, baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all that I commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • That humanity was created in the image of God.
    • The sin of Adam created an eternal divide between God and humanity.
    • Hence every person is born to sin (except Jesus).
      • Just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
  • That salvation is by grace alone, through the Risen Christ.
      • For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8)
  • That with salvation comes the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, this indwelling is manifested by various Spiritual Gifts. These Gifts are used to build up the body of believers.
      • Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-8)
      • But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. (1 Corinthians 12:7-10)
      • And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
  • That humanity is comprised of man and woman, male and female, chosen at conception. When joined together they become man and wife in a holy bond of matrimony.
      • A man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)
  • That family is comprised of a man and a woman raising and nurturing sons and daughters throughout their generations.
      • Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you. (Deuteronomy 5:16)
      • And gather to yourself into the house your father and your mother and your brothers and all your father's household. (Joshua 2:18)
  • That the universal church is comprised of all believers in Jesus Christ and is represented by a local body of believers; in this case, Amazing Grace.
      • To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in the world. (paraphrase of Philippians 1:1)
  • That baptism is the public affirmation of our belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior, that He died on the cross, was buried for three days in the grave, and rose again that we might know eternal salvation and be saved.
    • Baptism is by water (also see indwelling of the Holy Spirit).
      • I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matthew 3:11)
      • And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. (Acts 2:4)
      • For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
