Welcome to the new format for Amazing Grace Newsletters!  Hopefully this will reduce the necessity of sending around those massive emails.  If you have any suggestions for improvements don't hesitate to send them along! I have a prayer request, my oral boards for graduation are tomorrow morning (Monday) at 9:00 a.m.  I would appreciate any prayers that are proffered on my behalf.  Also, for those who have requested a doctrinal statement from me, I am awaiting the results from the orals to see if any revisions in the statement would be beneficial.  Thank you for waiting. Life at seminary has been a long and eventful number of years for me and my family.  I appreciate every course that I have taken, and I have been able to take something out of each and give it back to the congregation almost immediately.  What a blessing that has been.  I look forward to a life that is slightly less hectic in the future. We began the "Route 66 -- Through the Bible" series two weeks ago.  We have seven/eight in attendance.  If you are interested in participating then the classes are Monday evenings 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the chapel basement.  Please come on out!  I am rewriting and updating the book as we move through the series so if you have already taken the series you will find new material in it. I have a praise to share with you.  We have had more new visitors in the last two months than we have seen in almost a year.  This has been God's working in the life of Amazing Grace.  What a tremendous blessing and opportunity this is!  Would you please pray that God will allow us to touch hearts and bring even more people to faith in Him? This morning I preached part two of a four part series on God's blessings.  There are certain church words that we use a lot and take for granted.  We think that we know what the words mean but sometimes we haven't a clue.  This series explores the meaning of "blessing" and looks at how it intersects our lives.  Here are six points about blessings that I shared with the congregation . .
I want to invite everyone to participate in our internet prayer chain.  We have prayer partners all over the continental U.S. right now. Also, if you have prayer concerns then please forward them to me and I will get them out to the chain.  This has been a great motivation to stay close to God in prayer as we raise up our concerns for one another. grace and peace to you from God the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ,        mark |
