Baptism & Membership
     Our current sermon series discusses the church and how we, as believers, interact with it.

     There seems to be four basic things that you must do in order to join a local church;
  • Come to faith in Jesus Christ
  • Proclaim your faith
  • Be a regenerate member
  • Be baptized into the body of believers
If you are interested in following along with this sermon series then click here and look for the Baptism & Membership series.

Route 66 - Through the Bible in a Year
     We studied 1st & 2nd Kings the last time we met.  1st Kings begins just before King David died (around 971 B.C.) and spans over four hundred years of history.  We find a few good kings, but mostly they are very bad.  2nd Kings ends with the fall of Jerusalem.

     If you think that you might like to get involved, the classes are every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  We work in twelve week "pods" and then take one week off.  Come on out and give it a try!

Vacation Bible School
Noah's Ark!

Begins Monday, July 28th

     We are beginning to gear up for Vacation Bible School.  I have been actively seeking unique animals to show to our children.  If I could figure out how to transport our emus into Tacoma without them having a major panic attack, I would do it in a heartbeat.  But alas, the poor birds are very shy and easily scared.

     Part of the Noah story centers on all of the animals that he had to trasport in order that they survive. For instance, snakes and toads. Or even honey bees, grasshoppers and stick bugs.

     One writer conjectured that the very large animals came on board as babies. That may be so. Additionally, there were more "clean" animals that "unclean".

     If you know of someone in the local area that is a collector of exotic animals, would you please ask them if they might like to show some of them to our children?

     We still need teachers, cooks, artists and animal wranglers.  Plus, one or two carpenters to help put together some ark "sets".  If you are interested please contact Mark.  Also, contact the church office, or Mark, to enroll your children in this year's VBS.

Guitar Classes
     We are in our seventh year of offering free guitar classes to the public. In that time we have had over 200 students sign up for the class series.  This has been a wonderful outreach and witness of Jesus Christ. Classes begin again on;
    Tuesday, July 15th
    6:00 p.m.
    Chapel Basement Classroom
     If you would like to learn to play guitar then please contact the church office.

If you would like more information about teaching guitar as an outreach in your own church then please contact me.  I will provide you with as much information and teaching material as I have available.

Special Prayer Request
     Bill Stochosky went home to be with the Lord last Thursday evening.  Please keep the Stochosky family in your prayers as they deal with this event.
